Who are these Behavioral Health Counselors?
The Behavioral Health Project's Goal is to develop a network of counselors throughout a five county region. These Behavioral Heatlh Counselors are licensed mental health professionals who have chosen to be included on this listing of mental health professionals who are open to serving clients in this region. They consist of Psychiatrists, Licensed Psychologists (Ph.D. or Psy.D.), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). These professionals work either in public or private mental health or substance abuse treatment program or in private practice. They typically are able to work with referrals from through clients' health insurance plans . They will work to offer wellness programs. They will continue to pursue continuing education to strengthen and expand their clinical skills through technical assistance and training programs offered through the COPING.US Training Programs. Many of these counselors also participate in the network of professionals who belong to the BayCare Parish Assistance Programs' network of mental health professionals.
